Really. A screen on a music player is absolutely silly, I bought my Shuffle just because it didn't have a screen. But I understand if you listen to classical music that you'd want a screen - it all sounds the same ;-). I just bnought mine earlier this year when the price came down (to $AUD150 for th 1GB model). I don'thave the same problem with the earbuds, as I bought headphones (as opposed to earphones) to use. That way not only can I play my music, I can also hear it! Bonus! I also don't find the copy-protection a problem, as even if you overwrite all your songs, you can always go back and get them again pretty easily. And as you say, if you want to transfer from one machine to another, you can use it as a USB drive. Who wants a screen? Really.
