LaCie Brick DesktopLaCie has the solution for those of you who feel weren’t given enough attention as children. Their new line of products, called the Brick Desktop Hard Drive and the Brick Mobile Hard Drive, are brightly-colored, high-capacity, stackable storage devices molded after the ubiquitous LEGO brick. The hardware shell was crafted by design house Ora Ito, which I’m sure is a brilliant and inspiring firm even if their name sounds like a brand of Japanese toothpaste.

Prices for these beauties is in the “not bad” range: The 160GB Brick Desktop is going for $120 while its more mobile 40GB counterpart will retail for $99. Interestingly, only the mobile hard drive comes with dual USB 2.0 and Firewire hookups.

So what do you say? Care to relive the days of yore where hours of entertainment required no batteries and a $400 piece of hardware? (Yeah, I’m sort of bitter I didn’t get one yesterday at launch, but my day will come.)
