Packard Bell AudioStar MP3 Player
No, seriously; I’ve always wanted to watch movies on a screen barely bigger than by thumb. Thank you!
Lucky for us, the Packard Bell AudioStar isn’t a dedicated video player. The 1GB audio player supports both the MP3, WMA, and WMA DRM formats. A 1.8 inch color screen makes up most of the unit’s front which highlights its elegantly simple rectangular wafer design. It also weighs a measly 49 grams and has a Li-ion battery that packs a decent, but disappointing, 10 hours of juice per charge. While video is a nice feature to have and all, it’s strange why Packard Bell would require video files to be converted to their proprietary format. Another downer is the gadget’s estimated price tag, which is supposedly set at $190.
While I completely relish the idea of watching Gilligan’s Island on a screen so small it makes my pupils spasm, I’m going to hold off on recommending this device until Packard Bell decides to get their collective heads out of the sand and settles on a cheaper price.
