Kingmax Super Stick Announced
Kingmax has announced what they claim to be the world’s smallest and lightest stick drive: the Kingmax Super Stick. Weighing in at a mere 5 grams and measuring at 39×12x2 millimeters, which is roughly the same dimensions as Calista Flockheart (okay, that’s a bad jab, but I’m still struggling with the Metric system, alright?), the USB 2.0-compliant, microSD-based Super Stick will come in 256MB to 2GB varieties. Its makers claim it will read and write at 20MB/sec and will retain memory for up to 10 years, which will give it just enough years of effective use until our future robot overlords determine a new, straight-to-the-brain interface ala Johnny Mnemonic. Keanu be praised!
It’s also water and dustproof and, if Kingmax has their way, will eventually come in the form of an earring, necklace, or a wide array of crappy quasi-technological accessories that flash when your cellphone goes off.
We’ll keep everyone posted on when this little gem goes on sale. Until then, start your geek-fueled, future-forecasting speculations…NOW!
